At Eve’s Toy Shop, we’re often asked why wooden toys cost a little more than their plastic counterparts. The answer? It’s all to do with what goes into them — and it’s a story we love to share.

Many of our wooden toys — like those from Le toy van, Tenderleaf Toys and Moulin Roty are made using wood from rubber trees that no longer produce latex. Instead of being discarded, these trees are given a second life — carefully crafted into toys that can be loved for years.
This wood is called rubberwood. It’s strong, eco-friendly, and helps reduce waste — so when you choose a wooden toy, you’re choosing something that’s kinder to the planet.
