Eve’s Toy Shop has been part of Llandeilo for over 22 years, and it’s full of the sort of toys, books and games I’ve always loved, things that are well made, safe, engaging and genuinely fun for children.

As a mother of four, and after more than 40 years working with children, I’ve never believed in filling shelves for the sake of it. I’ve always wanted the shop to be full of things that children will really enjoy and that grown-ups will feel happy giving.

I love toys that encourage imagination, creativity, storytelling, messy play and discovery, the sort of things children come back to again and again. That’s why I choose so much of the shop by feel as much as anything else. If something is lovely, well made and has real play value, that’s what I’m interested in.✨

All of our toys come from wonderful makers across Europe, and everything is chosen carefully. I want the shop to feel full of things that are a bit special, not because they’re flashy or on the TV but because they’re the sort of toys that are enjoyed, kept and loved.

And if you need help, we’re always happy to. Whether you’re looking for a birthday present, trying to choose for a particular age, sending a gift from further away or just feeling a bit stuck, we’ll do our very best to make it easy.

We were delighted to be named Best Independent Toyshop in the UK by the Progressive Preschool Awards, but what matters most to us is that people feel looked after when they shop with us.
